Multi-Response Optimization Of CNC WEDM Process Parameters For Machining Inconel 718 Using Taguchi Grey Relational Analysis (TGRA)

Abstract
WEDM process is extensively used in the machining of conductive materials when the prime importance of the operation is precision. This paper presents the investigation of material removal rate, kerf width, and wire wear ratio of WEDM process on INCONEL 718. Using Taguchi’s parameter design, significant machining parameters affecting the performance measures are identified as pulse off-time, pulse on-time, water flowrate, wire feed, and wire tension. The effect of each parameter is studied individually using the plots of signal to noise ratio.
